Last week of the regular season. Myself and CFT contributor, Colin Folk, are tied at .500 in our season series in picking games. Not great. But in this unpredictable CFL season, I am happy with that. But with 4 more games, than the playoffs, it is going to come down to the wire.  Read More→

Two weeks left of regular season ball and both I and CFT contributor Colin Folk are above .500. In this “you never know” season of the CFL, I would call that a victory. And being only one game behind Folk in the season series it is time to take a couple of chances and make up ground. (Although I feel really good about the chance I’m taking this week.) Read More→

We both went 3-1 last week, leaving me two games behind CFT contributor Colin Folk. With not much time left it may be time to gamble a bit and try to close that gap. Hope is fading fast. Read More→

Another good week as myself and CFT contributor Colin Folk both went 4-0 in our weekly picks. Thats not going to cut it for me though as I have to close the gap. The next few weeks I may have to pick some upsets. Just warning you. Read More→

Last week the Saskatchewan Roughriders were pounded up and down the field by the BC Lions enroute to a 42-5 loss.

But as per Jamie Nye at CFL.ca, head coach Ken Miller doesnt understand why that happened because his team played so hard.

“You watch our game video. You see guys fricken playing with great effort for the duration of the game. We weren’t playing well collectively. I don’t know the reason for that,” Miller said.

“We’re not playing like a team that is ‘flat’.

I would hate to see what would happen if the Riders did come out playing flat.

Even if they were playing with such great effort but not as a unit, the score would not be so lopsided.

The problem before Miller came back was the lack of effort by the players. Now after showing “tremendous effort”, they get embarrassed.

The fact is this team has many issues. And despite Millers praise, effort is one of those problems.

Right alongside teamwork, poor decision making and talent. Or lack thereof.
