CFL Week 15 Picks

Posted by at 12:28 pm

Another good week as myself and CFT contributor Colin Folk both went 4-0 in our weekly picks. Thats not going to cut it for me though as I have to close the gap. The next few weeks I may have to pick some upsets. Just warning you.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Hamilton Tigercats

Schmidt: An important East Division matchup. Buck Pierce looks to be back, but will that be enough to put the Bombers on top. I don’t think so. The Ticats are playing well. And the Bombers offence isn’t that scary, despite the weapons at receiver. The Bombers D doesn’t have the early season bite it did at the beginning of the year.

Tigercats 30, Blue Bombers 25

Folk:  This will be a awesome game in the East.  Hamilton is rolling and it is at the exactly the right time.  Brink brought Winnipeg back last week but Buck Pierce is back in the lineup and healthy.  This game will go down to the final minute with the Ticats winning at home.

Tigercats 26, Blue Bombers 23

Calgary Stampeders at BC Lions

Schmidt: Jon Cornish is getting it done in the backfield for Calgary giving them a running threat finally. The Stamps have been up and down but the Lions are on fire the last few weeks. Lulay is starting to get it and could give the Stamps secondary some trouble.

Lions 32, Stampeders 28

Folk: The dome was alive and loud last week for the Lions and it should be the same again this week.  Calgary needs a win this week to build momemtum going into the playoffs.  I look for Cornish to be a nightmare for the Lions and for Aaron Hunt to be a target after all his talk last week about dirty play.  Lulay is rounding into a Dave Dickenson type Q.B.  and has continually moved the chains and created points.  I look for a Stamps victory.

Stampeders 30, BC Lions 29

Toronto Argonauts at Montreal Alouettes

Schmidt: Not much to say here. The Argos have to many problems to list. Number one is quarterbacking. They will not be able to score enough to keep up with the high powered Alouette attack.

Alouettes 33, Argonauts 20

Folk: Cory Boyd is the Argos offence as the revolving door at QB continues.  Whitaker and Richardson continue to dominate the league highlights for Montreal and they are going to walk all over the Argos at Molson Stadium.

 Alouettes 36, Argonauts 19

Saskatchewan Roughriders at Edmonton Eskimos

Schmidt: This is it for Saskatchewan. Insert must win cliche here. The season is on the line and they are playing an opponent in Edmonton that will just not go away this season and keeps fighting. I do expect a bounce back game from the Riders after the embarrassment of the last two week and pull out a win they desperately need.

Roughriders 32, Eskimos 30

Folk: The Riders last push hope for a playoff spot will start or end in Edmonton.  They have rounded back to their early season woes and look dormant on the field in all 3 phases.  The Esks are playing with fire and the defence is making huge plays when needed.  Goodnight Riders as the Esks roll.

 Eskimos 31, Roughriders 27

Season Series:

Folk: 27-25

Schmidt: 25-27
