Greg Carr Could Return To Bombers Line-up
Posted by at 7:59 amGreg Carr looked to be a big part of the Bombers offence heading into the 2011 season after a breakout second hald of 2011. But a hamstring injury in the season opener has forced Carr to the sidelines and he has been unable to work his way back into the lineup since. That may change this week.
According to Paul Wiecek of the Winnipeg Free Pree, Carr was taking first team reps in practice. Terence Jeffers-Harris was the odd man out of the first team work.
“We’re trying to get better offensively and part of that process is Greg was successful for us last year,” said head coach Paul LaPolice. “TJ’s been OK, but if we can get an upgrade there, we’ll work on that process.”
Jeffers-Harris has not made the impact that was expected of him so far this season. And with Carr and rookie Kito Poblah both healthy, the Bombers are deep at receiver.
The problem with receiver production can’t be totally pinned on the pass catchers though. Buck Pierce has ranked near the bottom in terms of passing yards and touchdowns all season as the passing game has bogged down consistently.
That said, a shake-up on offence may just create a spark.
